Late 1960s/early 1970s Lanz Originals Austrian dress. A darling silhouette in vibrant green cotton featuring a fitted bodice, eyelet lace trim, back zipper and a skirt that twirls beautifully.
Lanz Originals was started in Austria in 1922 and supplied folkwear costumes for the Salzburg Music festival (yes, like in the Sound of Music!) After WWII, they created styles that were more “current”, but since they were still inspired by Austrian folk tradition, it can be hard to date a specific piece. Based on the label (which went through many iterations over the decades), this dress is likely from the late 60s or early 70s.
Made in Austria.
